High Wear-Resistant Carbide Back-up Idler Wheel
Product Overview

Carbide back-up idler wheel, specifically designed for high-end woodworking edge banding machines, CNC machining centers, and automatic trimming equipment. As a key support and guiding component behind the cutting tool, it withstands enormous friction and impact generated during high-speed cutting. Made of cemented carbide (tungsten steel) sintered at high temperature and pressure, this idler wheel fundamentally solves the problems of rapid wear and loss of accuracy common in traditional steel idlers. It is an ideal choice for improving edge banding efficiency and reducing downtime for replacements.

  • Extreme Wear Resistance & Long Service Life
    Made of YG6/YG8 grade cemented carbide (tungsten steel) with hardness up to HRA 89-92. Its wear resistance is 10-20 times that of bearing steel or hardened steel, capable of long-term resistance against continuous wear from edge banding trimming tools (especially diamond tools), ensuring the wheel profile remains unchanged.
  • Precise Guidance for Flawless Trimming
    The inner bore and end faces are precision ground using high-accuracy internal/external cylindrical grinders, achieving concentricity within 0.005mm. Smooth rotation effectively absorbs tool vibration, preventing "wavy marks" or "steps" on the trimmed board surface, ensuring a smooth and seamless joint between the edge banding strip and the panel.
  • High Temperature Resistance & Impact Strength
    Cemented carbide offers excellent red hardness, maintaining high hardness even at the instantaneous high temperatures generated by high-speed rotation. Additionally, the unique alloy composition provides good transverse rupture strength, resisting chipping or cracking when hitting hard materials (e.g., glue bumps, impurities).
  • Optimized Design & Strong Adaptability
    Various designs are available to suit different edge bander brands (e.g., Homag, KDT, NANXING, BIESSE):
    • Cylindrical type: For straight-line trimming.
    • Stepped / conical type: For profile following or radius corner trimming.
    • Integrated bearing assembly: Reduces friction and ensures more flexible rotation.
